What is Champions in Transition?

This is a new coaching program, created in response to the large number of layoffs that have come and which are anticipated in this very tumultuous economic time.  A job loss isn't a cataclysmic disaster; it's an unfortunate event--it can put people in a place of hardship, but it can't destroy them unless they let it.  We want to guide the champions who have decided they are going to face personal layoffs head on, acknowledge that job loss stinks, but that it's not end of the world. 

The Champions in Transition program is designed to assist those who have experienced job loss begin the path to their new journey, to use their job loss as a catalyst for starting over and finding something else they love to do, pursuing a passion that exhilarates and energizes them.

The Story Behind Champions in Transition

Companies sometimes have no choice but to issue layoffs, or in worst cases, close doors altogether.  And unfortunately, a lot of people aren't surprised when they hear layoff rumors.  They realize cutbacks have nothing to do with their professional merit, but everything to do with businesses being able to survive in an ecomonic climate where consumers are holding tight to every dollar. 

We're not offering therapy or cheerleading, but facilitating a conversation, creating energy, helping people who have experienced recent job loss to change direction and realize that they're in a spot where they can make the decision to do great things--and help others do great things.  They are bigger than the circumstances, and they are defined by more than a title or the company they work for. 


Who is Champions in Transition Designed for?

This program is geared towards two audiences; we work with companies that are anticipating layoffs and want to include coaching as part of their severance packages.  Not only is Champions in Transition a benefit to people who have perhaps not been on a job hunt in years, it's also a strong goodwill gesture that speaks well of the companies issuing layoffs.  It lets those being laid off know they are valued, and that the company cares what happens to them.

Our eventual goal with the Champions in Transition program is to have some of the people who have been through it stay on as coaches.  So, this could be a career change for some!
